Following on the heels of its 2006 endorsement of Margaret Mims for Fresno County Sheriff, the CVPPAC continues to break ground towards constructing a new model for progressivism in the San Joaquin Valley.

Vermont Police Try To Arrest Socialist Presidential Candidate
Posted January 8th, 2008 by crockfordSocialist Party USA Presidential Nominee Brian Moore was threatened with arrest Sunday afternoon by Brattleboro(Vermont) Police officers for petitioning in a supermarket parking lot to qualify on the presidential primary ballot of the Liberty Union Party of Vermont. The primary is scheduled for March 5th.
Progressives and Universal Suffrage
Posted December 29th, 2007 by crockfordLiberals who choose to identify themselves as political progressives overwhelmingly fail the test when it comes to suffrage—the right to vote—and its application to non-citizens.
In the San Joaquin Valley where the percentage of non-citizens represents a significant portion of the general population, the denial of the vote is a discriminatory practice without justification. It exposes a propensity for the continuation of some of the worst aspects of the current social and political system—the perpetuation of racial and economic privilege being the most prominent.
