Video or audio of the day (or whatever the interval between this and the next one)

A Democracy Now! debate between Christopher Hitchens and Tariq Ali. One of my all time favorite debates. I must admit I never like Hitchens even before he became a massive war monger. I always thought he had totalitarian ideas. In any case Ali takes Hitchens to task.

Dems paint a happy face on their extention of the Iraqi war

The Dems have been celebrating their "victory" with the passage of a new war funding bill that sets nonbinding dates for withdraw from Iraq, while funding the war until after Bush's term ends. Congressman Dennis Kucinich expressed his displeasure with his fellow Dems. Have a listen to Kucinich on Democracy Now! (http://www.democracynow.org/)
