Don't be scared by the word "dance" ...

You don’t have to be “in to” dance to enjoy and appreciate CSU Fresno’s “Portable Dance Troupe.” I went to last year’s performance on the recommendation of a coworker, taking a somewhat skeptical friend. We both looked forward to this year’s performance without any encouragement needed! The Portable Dance Troupe’s artistic, modern approach and high production value make this a great show even for those who are far from being dance enthusiasts.

We attended the Sunday, March 25 show. In this year’s performance, six routines each bring their own personality to the black box stage. I couldn’t help but adore “Clothesline” for its physical comedy and use of color. Throughout the performances, though, the audience gets to enjoy the skills of the dancers as well as wonderful lighting and costume design.

This is the last week for the Portable Dance Troupe, with performances March 27-31, 2007, 8pm each evening. Tickets are $8 for CSU Fresno students and $15 for the general public. For more information or to order tickets, visit http://www.csufresno.edu/Theatre/06-07/pdt07.html
