Fresno County Peace and Freedom Party

The Fresno County Peace and Freedom Party was founded on November 4, 2004 with the appointment of a County Central Committee chairperson by the State Central Committee. Though individuals in Fresno County have been active in the Peace and Freedom Party since its formation, it is unknown if there was any formal organization here prior to that date.

There are (as of September 5, 2008), 806 voters registered with the Peace and Freedom Party in Fresno County. This is a 55% increase over the 521 Fresno County voters registered with the Peace and Freedom Party on October 18, 2004 - shortly before the Party was organized here. Over the last two years, the number of voters registered with the Peace and Freedom Party in Fresno County has grown from 563 to 806. By comparison, the Green Party has lost 67 registered voters during this period while the Peace and Freedom Party gained 243 registered voters.
