Rogue Day II

Topic Tags

The only thing that couldn’t topped the first day of Rogue was the second day of Rogue. First of all hats off to all the Rogue people. Just two days in and I’ve seen more than I will probably be able to see the rest of the year.

Day II started out with magic, as the Magician So Amazing He Amazes Himself performed a great show in front of a packed crowd (I went to an early show so there the house was probably 3/4 kids) there were a lot of ohhs, ahhs, and laughs. After that I caught “Who We Found Instead.” The audience wasn’t as packed in as I thought it would be, but I have a feeling that once people start talking about this two person play that it will be a hard show to see. I followed that up with Thread, a three person play (the first drama I’ve caught at Rogue) that provided a nice break from all the laughing (in a good way though, it is meant to be serious). After that is was back to laughing with “Love Can Be a Pisser,” this show was Lounge music in all its glory. After that I was turned away, along with about 30 other people from “Tale End.” Can’t say much more about that aside from get there really early if you want to see this play. I ended the night laughing as uncontrollably as I ever have at the “Starr, Scott, & Ed sketch comedy show.” This may be the funniest show at Rogue this year. There were a lot of people there last night so this may be another one where you will want to get there early.

Looking forward to Day III. There are still a lot of show I want to see. Don’t miss Nicholas Nocketback’s Comedy Jihad, 7:30 at Spectrum Gallery.
